LONDON -- Formula One champion Sebastian Vettel has signed a contract extension with the Red Bull team through the 2015 season. The team made the announcement Tuesday, two days after the 25-year-old German won the Canadian Grand Prix for his third victory of the season. Vettel, who joined Red Bull in 2009, has won the last three F1 drivers titles. He has won 29 races and collected 51 podium places and 39 pole positions. Vettel won the Canadian GP on Sunday from pole position to improve his chances for a fourth straight season title. It was his first career victory in Canada. Derrick Robinson and Shin-Soo Choo singled off Vin Mazzaro (3-2) with one out in the 13th and Joey Votto was walked intentionally. Phillips singled up the middle to end it. Two outs away from a second straight shutout, the Pirates let it get away. Grilli started the ninth needing one more save to tie a club record. He had converted all of his 25 chances this season, one shy of Joel Hanrahans 2011 club record to open a season. Bruce connected on the first pitch he saw for his fourth homer in his last six games. It was the first homer Grilli had allowed this season. Cincinnati hadnt scored in its last 17 innings since Bruce hit a solo homer during a 4-1 win on Monday night. Manny Parra (1-1) pitched the 13th for the win. The Reds are 5-7 in extra innings, tied with Colorado for most in the majors. Theyve gone extra innings in three of their last seven games. The Pirates are 4-4 after their longest game of the season. Cincinnati has held onto second place in the NL Central by winning two of three in the series, which concludes on Thursday.
