Leighton Baines has blamed a lack of chemistry between Evertons players following a disappointing defeat at Manchester United on Sunday. The Toffees were booed off by the travelling fans following a 1-0 loss at Old Trafford; a third successive Premier League defeat leaving Roberto Martinezs side 12th in the table.Although Everton have an FA Cup semi-final to contest against the winner of the tie between West Ham United and Manchester United later this month, their league form has frustrated supporters. Despite having a squad featuring John Stones, Ross Barkley and 25-goal striker Romelu Lukaku, Baines insists Evertons current team are not gelling together as they should. Roberto Martinez saw his Everton side suffer defeat at Old Trafford I just dont feel as though the chemistry is quite there with the team on the pitch at the moment, and it hasnt been for a while, he told the Liverpool Echo.We are maybe leaning too heavily on individuals to come up with something. Were in games; we were in the game on Sunday and had a couple of chances, but were not performing as a team to the level we know we can or we should be.Results have an impact on that because chemistry and confidence go hand in hand. Look at the teams who are having success this year and youd say they have chemistry. If I had to say one thing, I just dont know if its there with us at the moment, for whatever reason. Romelu Lukaku has scored 25 goals for Everton this season Baines has urged his team-mates to put things right ahead of their semi-final date at Wembley to try and salvage their campaign by earning European qualification for next season. Were not where we should be, the 31-year-old added. We havent won enough games to make excuses. You get judged at the end of the season and were getting towards the end of the season, and were not near a position we should be in given what weve got. Wed like to go into that cup game with a few wins behind us. Thats our season in some respects now, it certainly is from the fans point of view and weve let them down a lot, its our only way of making it up to them. Leighton Baines on FA Cup semi-final Were all accountable. We try and put it right but weve not been able to. Thats the third loss on the bounce in the league which is disappointing to us all.We want to win every time we go out to play and wed like to go into that cup game with a few wins behind us. As the Christmas/New Year racing period approaches the Flemington stable of cousins Mathew Ellerton and Simon Zahra invariably makes an impact.Last year after a quiet spring they had a successful December culminating in four winners at Flemington on New Years Day.With a little over three weeks left this month, Ellerton and Zahra has a team of seven runners heading to Flemington on Saturday.Three line up in the Lanec Services Handicap - Euston Road, Blithe Belle and Magna Rosa - all at double figure odds.Zahra expects the trio to run forward races especially as they all come off the back of some recent good jump-outs and go into the 1000m race fresh.Blithe Belle hasnt raced since winning at Caulfield in July but is a progressive type according to Zahra. Her trials have been really good and she will improve off them, Zahra said.Euston Road goes well up the straight and is a good fresh horse.Shes had a couple of jump-outs and has been freshened since.Magna Rosa haas a tongue tie fitted for Saturdays race after getting her tongue over the bit when last at Geelong in October.ddddddddddddZahra said the mare was sent to owner David Moodies property for a freshen-up and arrived back in the stable in great order. She looks a lot better, Zahra said. She looked a bit ribby and wintry in her coat before the freshen up and we couldnt get her to turn around. We sent her up to Davids farm for a month or so and shes been thriving since.Theres three nice horses in the race. It looks a nice race and each has a chance. The stable will also be represented by Not A Happy Camper ($11) in the Plenary Group Handicap, What A Shock ($13) in the Dorevitch Pathology Charity Plate, Rough Justice ($7.50) in the Western Health First Response Pharmacy Cup and Sir Sagamore ($8.50) in the Western Health Foundation Handicap.
