Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork. Under Armour Outlet Australia .com) - The recent concept of Eastern Washington University quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. leaving the FCS level one year early is startling. Adams, the Walter Payton Award runner-up in each of the past two seasons, is on track to graduate at the end of the spring semester. At that point, he could leave EWU, enroll elsewhere, a la the University of Oregon which is in the market for a new starting quarterback, and have immediate eligibility for his senior season. Former Gardner-Webb defensive end Shaquille Riddick, another FCS All-American, followed such a path last year when he graduated in the spring and spent his senior season on the FBS level at West Virginia University. Players in those situations view such a transfer as a way to boost their NFL Draft status by playing against a higher level of competition. Adams, who has accounted for a combined 100 passing and rushing touchdowns in 25 games over Eastern Washingtons last two seasons, did not apply for early entry into this years draft, although he would have been eligible as a fourth- year junior had he sought an NFL career. He has downplayed the talk of a transfer. If he returns to the Eagles lineup, they will be the favorite to win a fourth straight Big Sky Conference title and considered a top contender for the FCS national championship. If Adams were to play his senior season at an FBS school, the FCS would lose its most high-profile player. However, what wont change is the talent level at footballs most-important position, which is incredibly high across the division. Including Adams, this past years all-conference first-team quarterback is scheduled to return in 10 of the 13 FCS conferences. In the case of the Big Sky (Adams), Big South Conference (Coastal Carolinas Alex Ross), CAA Football (Villanovas John Robertson), Southern Conference (Chattanoogas Jacob Huesman) and Southwestern Athletic Conference (Alcorn States John Gibbs Jr.), the first-team selection also is the conferences reigning offensive player of the year. Theres also the first-team QBs from the Ivy League (Dartmouths Dalyn Williams), Missouri Valley Football Conference (Tre Roberson of national runner-up Illinois State), Northeast Conference (Sacred Hearts RJ Noel), Ohio Valley Conference (Jacksonville States Eli Jenkins) and the Pioneer Football League (Jacksonvilles Kade Bell). Robertson not only won the 2014 Walter Payton Award as the outstanding player in the FCS - Adams was considered the front-runner in October until he missed four games with a broken foot - but the Villanova magician was the 2012 Jerry Rice Award recipient as the FCS freshman of the year. So there would be no shortage of star power without Adams. Plus, there are plenty of other elite FCS quarterbacks who will return next season, including North Dakota States Carson Wentz, the most outstanding player of the national championship game when the Bison won for the fourth straight season. In addition, dual-threat signal callers Dakota Prukop of Montana State and Vad Lee of James Madison warrant consideration for the Payton Award even though they are in the same conferences as Adams and Robertson - the Big Sky and CAA, respectively. Other returning standouts include Cal Polys Chris Brown, Murray States KD Humphries, Sam Houston States Jared Johnson, Western Carolinas Troy Mitchell, Yales Morgan Roberts, Eastern Illinois Jalen Whitlow, Grambling States Johnathan Williams and Libertys Josh Woodrum. Johnson, who helped lead Sam Houston to the national semifinals, makes up for QB losses in the Southland Conference, which is the only one in the FCS not to return either its all-conference first- and second-team selections, if not both. The second-team QBs are back in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference with North Carolina Centrals Malcolm Bell and the Patriot League with Holy Cross Peter Pujals. Theres no doubt the FCS quarterback class will run deep next season. Cheap Under Armour Shoes Australia . With their coach gone, they finally played offence the way he would have wanted. Amare Stoudemire made all seven shots in the first half, Anthony passed and shot well, and the Knicks shook off the surprising departure of their coach to rout the Portland Trail Blazers 121-79 on Wednesday night, snapping a six-game losing streak. Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine and Frank Thomas appeared to be on track to gain election from the Baseball Writers Association of America on Wednesday, and Craig Biggio could join them. http://www.cheapaustraliaunderarmour.com/ . Geovany Soto had an RBI for the Cubs. Carlos Silva gave up one run on three hits over six innings to pick up the win. Josh Willingham drove in the lone run for the Nationals, who had just four hits.REGINA -- The Western final is behind Calgary running back Jon Cornish. The Eastern final, however, still rankles Toronto quarterback Ricky Ray. One of the two will have something to celebrate Thursday night as the CFL hands out its annual awards. Cornish is up for both Most Outstanding Player, against Ray, and Outstanding Canadian, against Winnipeg linebacker Henoc Muamba. Cornishs Stampeders were ousted 35-13 by Saskatchewan last weekend while Rays Argonauts were bounced 36-24 by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. For Ray, the scab is still fresh. "It is tough because youve got to wait six months until you get to really put it out of your system by moving on to the next year," he said of the pain. "Those are the games that are always going to haunt you a little bit. "Even losing the Grey Cup in Edmonton my first year (in 2002), I still have bad memories from that game. Even though Ive been back and been able to be on the victorious side, I still have bad thoughts about that game. Im sure this will continue to give me bad thoughts throughout my career." Cornish is past the pain. "I sort of left it back in Calgary," he said Wednesday night in a pre-awards availability. "It would have been harder to swallow if it was a closer game, But the way we lost and having seven turnovers, its not hard to be able to walk away from a game like that and just forget about it. We didnt play Stampeder football. Theres no use in holding onto it." Cornish led the league in rushing with a Canadian-record 1,813 yards. The 29-year-old from New Westminster, B.C., was also No. 1 in yards from scrimmage (2,157) and TDs (14). When healthy, Ray was like a metronome with a league-record 77.2 per cent completion average and just two interceptions in 303 pass attempts. The 34-year-old from California missed six starts due to injury and was a healthy scratch in Torontos regular-season finale He was in a remarkable groove for most of the season. "It felt like guys were open. I was just dropping back and finding guys open," Ray said. "Things were just clicking ... Its a good feeliing to have. Under Armour Australia Online. " But the finale to the season inexplicably went south after a fine first half against Hamilton. "They just came out and played better. Obviously I didnt play good enough to win," he said. "Thats what you think about when you lose. You think about all the plays you wish you could have back to do over again. Maybe make a better throw, a better read." Ray was offered the chance to take in the championship game as a spectator but declined. "It would be tough to watch the game live and sit in the cold. Id just think about last week and wanting to be here. So I chose not to." Ray and Cornish exchanged compliments in their separate media scrums. "Cornish has been one of the best, most consistent guys weve had in this league over the last few years," said Ray. "Just the numbers hes been able to put up on a game-by-game basis, add them up throughout the year and its pretty special." Said Cornish: "Rickys performance this year is going to go down in the record books for his effectiveness on every play. Ive been saying for years Ricky Ray is one of the best players in this league. For me, not even winning, just being up against him is one of the biggest honours Ive had." Ray may well be hurt by his occasional inactivity. "I guess the big question is did I play enough," he said. Tight end Tony Gabriel (1978, Ottawa) and quarterback Russ Jackson (1963, 66, 69) are the only Canadians to have won Most Outstanding Player honours. Cornish is one of four Stampeder nominees, joining defensive end Charleston Hughes (defensive player), centre Brett Jones (rookie) and kicker Rene Paredes (special-teams player). Brendon LaBatte of the Saskatchewan Roughriders was the West Divisions top lineman. The other East Division finalists are Montreal linebacker Chip Cox (defensive player), Toronto centre Jeff Keeping (lineman), Hamilton Tiger-Cats running back C.J. Gable (rookie) and Marc Beswick (special-teams player). The awards are voted on by the Football Reporters of Canada and the leagues eight head coaches. ' ' '
