ptain, youve dropped down to No.5. Is that where you are happy batting? I am happy wherever the coach puts me. I got a few chirp Antworten

CHICAGO -- Seattle manager Scott Servais liked what he saw from starting pitcher Taijuan Walker. Hes still waiting for his offense to break out.Walker allowed four runs in 7 1/3 innings as the Mariners lost 4-1 to the Chicago White Sox on Sunday. Seattle totaled seven runs in the final three games of the series.Servais said before the game hed like to see the offense get going and consistently score five or more runs.Youve got to get hits with runners in scoring position, Servais said. Our pitching was really good today. I cant say enough about Taijuan.Walker (4-9) has allowed eight runs in 13 innings over his last two starts since returning from a demotion to Triple-A Tacoma. He is 2-7 since he went 2-0 with a 1.44 ERA in April. He threw the ball outstanding, really good effort, good stuff, Servais said. He was really on top of his game, about as good as weve seen him since early in the year.Carlos Rodon pitched into the seventh inning, Justin Morneau had a two-run single and Melky Cabrera drove in a run and scored twice to lead the White Sox, who took three of four against the Mariners.Jose Abreu also drove in a run for Chicago, which has won six of eight.Robinson Cano hit a solo homer, his 30th, and Kyle Seager had three hits for the Mariners, who are three games back in the wild-card race. You want to be there as a hitter, but the situation were in right now, it doesnt matter how good I do or how good I played in the game, if we wouldnt win, Cano said.Rodon (5-8) allowed the run and five hits in six-plus innings before giving way to the bullpen. Rodon is 3-0 with a 1.47 ERA in his last five starts.Carlos has really evolved, White Sox manager Robin Ventura said. As he goes along, he just seems to be getting better. Theres more confidence there and hes learned a lot about himself as well.David Robertson got the last three outs for his 33rd save in 39 chances.Chicago center fielder Adam Eaton left the game due to a bruised forearm in the fifth -- an inning after being hit by a pitch. X-rays were negative and he is listed as day-to-day.Walker was perfect through three innings, but then started the fourth by hitting Eaton. One out later, Cabrera doubled to put runners on second and third. Abreu was hit by a pitch to load the bases and Morneau followed with a single to left for a 2-0 lead.I really didnt feel like (I had) my best fastball today, Walker said.He hit three batters. When you throw in, its going to happen, Walker said. You kind of have to make them uncomfortable too at the same time. Obviously (Im) not trying to hit a batter, but trying to get it in there to get them off the plate, get them off the fastball.Chicago added a two runs in the eighth on an RBI triple by Cabrera and a sacrifice fly by Abreu.BIG NUMBERCano has reached 30 home runs for the second time in his career. He hit 33 in 2009.Hes had a phenomenal year, really from the get-go, from the opening series of the season all the way through, Servais said.TRAINERS ROOMMariners: 3B Seager (bruised right foot) was in the lineup for a second straight day after missing the previous three games. He looked fine, Servais said. Is he 100 percent? Probably not.UP NEXTMariners: RHP Hisashi Iwakuma (14-9, 3.81 ERA), whos gone at least seven innings in 12 of his 26 starts, faces RHP Yu Darvish (4-3, 2.91) Monday in the opener of a three-games series at Texas.White Sox: RHP James Shields (5-16, 5.98 ERA) looks to rebound Monday in the opener of a three-game series at Detroit after going 0-4 with a 13.95 ERA in his last five starts. LHP Matt Boyd (5-2, 3.98) goes for the Tigers. Cheap Yeezy Boost 350 China . Wholesale Yeezy Boost 350 .ca! Kerry, Two nights after the Scott-Eriksson incident in Buffalo, the Bruins returned home to play San Jose. In that game, Zdeno Chara put a check on Tommy Wingels that clearly targeted his head. Faf du Plessis has already succeeded in one of Test captaincies toughest tasks and led South Africa to a series win in Australia, but his proper job begins now. Confirmed as South Africas permanent Test captain ahead of a three-match home series against Sri Lanka, du Plessis spoke to the media at Newlands about the resources at his disposal for this assignment. The expectation is that this will be a much lower-profile series than Australia. How will you get the team up for their only home matches this summer? I prepare the team and myself in exactly the same way. There is no big series and no small series. People expect us to beat Sri Lanka, but thats not certain. They have played really good cricket over time. They have also lost some key players, which is something we will make sure we get into. But they are a quality cricket team, theyve got exceptional spin bowlers. Hopefully the ball wont turn too much.Theres a returning face in your pace pack - Wayne Parnell. What do you think he will add? Parnell deserves it. His last Test match was a good Test match and then he got injured. He has been plagued by injuries. Its good to see his hard work has paid off. He brings variety: left-arm seamer who can bowl quick. Its really important that he can bat as well. The more options that you have in a team when you have a longer batting line-up, the better. You saw in Australia now with someone like Keshav Maharaj, a spinner that can bat, how much of a difference it actually makes when your top order doesnt do their jobs on the day.Home fans are getting used to seeing a new-look pace attack. Last summer you were without Dale Steyn and Vernon Philander. This time theres no Morne Morkel. Is there enough firepower on the field? We are lucky that there are guys who are waiting. Morne is a fantastic Test bowler, you dont have to say anything about him. With injury, it has been difficult for him to get back in. Kyle Abbott has done a fantastic job, but Morne is in the wings and gives us an option if we want to play four seamers. In Port Elizabeth, the wicket doesnt suit that, so we will maybe look at it towards the latter end of the series. But even after that, we need to make sure there are two or three guys who are ready.Youve also got a new top-order batsmaan in Theunis de Bruyn.dddddddddddd. What do you think he will gain from this series? Its sad on Rilee Rossouws behalf because he has been waiting for his turn for a while now and deserves a chance, but his foot has not completely healed yet. Theunis comes in as the next batter after Rilee and he has done really well for the South African A side. Hes got the X-factor, which is something that will fit in nicely. He is also young leader at the Knights, so to come into an environment where he can learn from great leaders means that even if he doesnt play a game, he will go back to the Knights a stronger leader.Since taking over as captain, youve dropped down to No.5. Is that where you are happy batting? I am happy wherever the coach puts me. I got a few chirps in Australia, saying I was hiding at No.5, but for me, its about getting the best out of JP Duminy. The way that JP is looking, he looks like the JP we know he can be. Ive got the captaincy so I dont need more extra responsibility but its nice for JP. He has that responsibility and he feels like he needs to go out there and score big hundreds for the team. At No.7, you bat with the tail and you tonk a few and you can get a good ball and thats why Quinton de Kock is perfect for that role. He takes the game away from the opposition. I like that extra responsibility on JP.Although you won the Australia series, only Quinton de Kock found real consistency among the batsmen. Is that a concern and what do you expect from the rest? My thing is to make sure the guy who are in form take full responsibility to score runs. Its going to happen that youre going to get out of form and you are going to get good balls, but guys who are batting well at any point in time have to make sure that they score the big runs for the team. If someone like Hashim Amla had a series where he didnt score the runs that he wanted to, for me is not as important as making sure Quinton who was in form cashed in. Temba Bavuma was also consistent. Through the series, we didnt possibly didnt score as many runs as we wanted to but every single Test there was a hundred and that wins you games of cricket.
