The 30-year-old left back holds the MLS club record for career appearances, starts, minutes played and goals by a defender. "Jordan is a great guy on and off the pitch," said Whitecaps FC head Carl Robinson. "He brings leadership, hes excellent with the young players, his consistency levels have been fantastic, and he has a strong understanding of the league. As we continue to move forward, its important we have experienced MLS players and he certainly fits into that category." Harvey, a native of The Mission Viejo, California, joined the Whitecaps in 2011 in a trade that sent allocation money to the Philadelphia Union.
