TSNs Jack Armstrong offers his thoughts on Doc Rivers, the Raptors making the playoffs, Andre Iguodala, Canadians in the NBA Draft and Raptors head coach Dwane Casey. Melker Karlsson Jersey . 1. DOC RIVERS (Clippers): Great move for the Clips. Gives them a terrific shot at retaining Chris Paul and they get a top-notch coach who will handle the pressure of a big market like L.A. quite easily. The Celtics get a first round pick in 2015, and more importantly begin the process of dismantling their team to acquire assets for a rebuild/restructure. It will be interesting to see how things are handled right now with Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce & Rajon Rondo as well as the hiring of a new coach. GM Danny Ainge is a bold/progressive thinker and will try to be active if/when possible. Right move for both teams. 2. TORONTO RAPTORS - PLAYOFFS?: Think about it for a second. Miami, Indiana, Chicago, Brooklyn and New York - Put those five in the Top 5 in whatever order youd like for next season. After that, its a crap shoot for the bottom three spots of the Eastern Conference playoffs. Milwaukee, Atlanta and Boston (the other three playoff teams from this past season) are all going to have a different and possibly weaker look next season. The six, seven and eight spots are up for grabs. Im as curious as all of you what the Raps decide to do in the coming months with their team building plan. Do they try to develop a winning/playoff environment during the 2013-14 season or go the developmental route and try to acquire assets for down the line? Your guess is as good as mine. This Thursday nights NBA Draft will be our first look at what the direction will be. 3. ANDRE IGUODALA (Nuggets): Opting out of his contract and will be a free agent. The trade to Denver was a great opportunity to showcase his game in an up tempo style that suited his game. Hes a versatile athlete who plays both ways well and hard for you. Hes got lots of fans round the league and hes proven to be a valuable member of both the 76ers and the Nuggets and has the Olympics experience under his belt. Hes polished and hell be a target for teams with cap space if he keeps his salary/term demands at a fair/reasonable level. 4. CANADIANS IN THE NBA DRAFT (Anthony Bennett-UNLV / Kelly Olynyk-Gonzaga / Myck Kabongo-Texas): If you get a chance, check out Mondays USA Today. Theres a neat article on the growth of basketball in Canada. Well likely see three more Canadians drafted on Thursday night. Bennett and Olynyk are first rounders and Kabongo is all over the board in the 2nd round, depending on who you talk with. Im excited to see how it unfolds and more importantly for the future of Canadian hoops. The best is yet to come! 5. DWANE CASEY (Toronto Raptors): Announced last week that hell be back as the head coach. Beyond staff decisions, player development and putting together the roster with GM Masai Ujiri, a huge component of improving the team in 2013-14 will be how they perform/execute in the fourth quarter of games. Situational basketball performance is the make/break aspect of teams and coaches. Im sure Casey and his new staff will take significant time between now and the start of evaluating each and every fourth quarter this past season where the Raptors let a lead slip away that resulted in a loss. Way too many times this took place and it will be the defining judgment piece for this upcoming season. How you perform under the pressure of the fourth quarter spotlight in the NBA is usually the make/break aspect of a team, season and coaching staff. Control to the best of your ability what you can control and move those chess pieces in an appropriate/timely manner and the narrative of a season becomes more fun to watch. Brandon Mashinter Jersey . Nikolai Khabibulin was yanked in the second period, and the Ottawa Senators looked ready to put away a big road win. Ryan Carpenter Jersey .Y. -- Phil Jackson lost out on his preferred coach, but hes working hard on keeping his star player. http://www.sharksauthority.com/authentic-joe-pavelski-sharks-jersey/ . No such luck. Wiggins owned the end of Parkers impressive homecoming. The Kansas star scored 16 of his 22 points in the second half, outplaying Parker down the stretch and helping the fifth-ranked Jayhawks knock off No.EVIAN-LES-BAINS, France -- With teen amateur Lydia Ko of New Zealand in pursuit, Mika Miyazato of Japan held a one-stroke lead Saturday after two rounds at the Evian Championship. Miyazato shot a 2-under 69 and was at 8 under with a round to go in the fifth and last womens major of the year. The four-round tournament was cut to 54 holes after rain left the greens soggy. The course dried out somewhat Saturday but more showers are forecast for the final round. Ko, who is 16 and plays with great composure, had four birdies in an error-free 4-under 67. Her only problem seemed to be her glasses, which did not co-operate in the weather. "Im having to clean all the time," she said. "I really want to get contacts. Cars have got wipers, they should design one for glasses. I would myself if I could." Miyazato, whose day started with bogeys on the first two holes, is looking for her first U.S. LPGA title this year. Suzann Pettersen of Norway bogeyed her two holes on the back nine but had four birdies -- as did Miyazato -- for a 69 to share second with Ko. "I didnt play my perfect game of golf out there, but I made a few really good pars," Pettersen said. Ko successfully defended her Canadian Womens Open title last month, and her game has not lost any of its touch. "I definitely gave myself a lot of opportunities," she said. "Hopefully it will be a good day tomorrow. But I cant hit it as good as I did today every single day." Stacy Lewis, ranked No. 2, is two shots back in fourth affter a 67. Brandon Bollig Jersey. The American is chasing her second major title this season after last months British Open. Top-ranked Inbee Park faces an enormous task in her bid for golf history. The South Korean is trying to become the first professional to win four majors in a season. She is 11 strokes off the lead. She opened with a 74 and followed with a 71 that included a double bogey on the fourth hole. She had to wait until the 13th for her first birdie of the day. Three South Koreans -- Se Ri Pak, Chella Choi and So Yeon Ryu -- and Lindsey Wright of Australia are all three shots behind Miyazato. The oddest round of the day belonged to Swedens Caroline Hedwall: two double bogeys, two bogeys, a hole in one on the 16th and seven birdies. Organizers on Friday decided to shorten the major to 54 holes, having initially hoped to complete the 72 rounds by playing two rounds Sunday. "I understand were in a difficult position," Pettersen said. "Its not ideal for either the championship or for the players or for the tour in general to cut down on major rounds." Some of the greens were expected to be covered overnight in a bid to optimize conditions. Lewis was unhappy about going to 54 holes and thinks the cut should have been shortened, rather than the tournament. "I think a major should be 72 holes. I would have liked to have seen a cut to 50 instead of 70 and try to get 72 (holes) in," she said. "Its going to be muddy and wet. You just got to adjust and see what you can do."
