A look at whats happening all around the majors Sunday:---HOLIDAY GETAWAYThe Braves host the Marlins in a special for-the-troops contest in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Its believed to be the first regular-season baseball game played at an active military installation. Major League Baseball is staging the game at the sprawling U.S. Army post on the day before Independence Day as a thank you to the armed forces. It has turned an overgrown golf course into a major league-ready field surrounded by a temporary 12,500-seat ballpark -- a project thats costing MLB and the players association roughly $5 million.REINFORCEMENTSThe limping Dodgers get Brandon McCarthy back from the DL to make his season debut against Colorado. McCarthy made four starts after signing a $48 million, four-year free agent deal with Los Angeles in 2015 before having to have Tommy John surgery. His return is timely for L.A., which has sent six starting pitchers to the DL this season, including ace Clayton Kershaw on Friday.WRAP IT UPThe Cubs and Mets close a four-game rematch of last years NL Championship Series with aces Jon Lester (9-3, 2.03) and Noah Syndergaard (8-3, 2.49) on the mound. Lester has won five straight decisions, though hes coming off two consecutive no-decisions despite allowing just three runs over 14 2/3 innings. Syndergaard allowed five runs in three innings last time out against the Nationals, ending a six-decision winning streak.BETTER LUCK THIS MONTHAngels right-hander Matt Shoemaker (3-8, 4.12 ERA) hopes for better luck this month starting against Boston in the series finale at Fenway Park. He was winless in six starts (0-3) in June despite an impressive 2.14 ERA. Right-hander Sean OSullivan (1-0, 7.94) is slated to pitch for the Red Sox.STRUGGLING ARMSJose Quintana (5-3, 3.18) will start for the White Sox against Houston. Quintana looks to get back on track after going 0-7 with a 4.58 ERA in his last nine starts. Collin McHugh (5-5, 4.58) is up for Houston and is searching for his first win since May 30 after getting one loss and four no-decisions over his past five starts.HOT COLERangers lefty Cole Hamels (9-1, 2.60) has won four straight starts, giving up just two earned runs in 27 2/3 innings. Hell look to extend that streak against Minnesotas Kyle Gibson (1-5, 5.12), who earned his first win of the season on Tuesday. Gibson pitched seven innings in a 4-0 win over the White Sox. http://www.brownsrookiestore.com/Browns-Kevin-Hogan-Jersey/ . Roman Josi had a goal and an assist to lead the Predators to a 4-1 victory over the Dallas Stars on Monday night. http://www.brownsrookiestore.com/Browns-Randall-Telfer-Jersey/ . LOUIS -- Valtteri Filppula assisted on three of Tampa Bays four goals, and the Lightning beat the St. http://www.brownsrookiestore.com/Browns-Deshone-Kizer-Jersey/ . Manuel was offered a position the day he was fired. He accepted earlier this week and the team made the announcement Friday. http://www.brownsrookiestore.com/Browns-Rashard-Higgins-Jersey/ . Neymar curled home a free kick from just outside the area to put the 2014 World Cup host ahead in the 44th minute. Three minutes after the break, a simple through pass from Paulinho freed Oscar and the Chelsea star rounded goalkeeper Jung Sung-ryong to extend Brazils lead. http://www.brownsrookiestore.com/Browns-Ozzie-Newsome-Jersey/ . 8 Kansas to a 64-63 win over Texas Tech on Tuesday night. The freshman from Vaughan, Ont. ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Will Worth and No. 24 Navy played keep-away with Memphis while running the Tigers into the ground.Worth rushed for a career-high 201 yards and three touchdowns, and the Midshipmen put on a dazzling display of ball control in a 42-28 victory Saturday. In addition to operating the triple option in near-flawless fashion, Worth completed three of four passes for 85 yards and two scores. We take what we can get, and today, the quarterback run game was there, Worth said. We could manage that and set up a couple of pass plays to be able to score through the air. Its just executing the game plan. The last Navy player to reach the 200-yard mark on the ground was Keenan Reynolds in 2014.Worth carried 31 times and orchestrated an attack that held the ball for nearly 40 minutes. That left high-scoring Memphis little time to counter-punch.It was kind of hard because we werent doing a great job of getting off the field defensively, Tigers coach Mike Norvell said. Offensively, its hard to be in rhythm, its hard to stay in rhythm. The Midshipmen (5-1, 4-0 American Athletic Conference) gained a season-high 447 yards on the ground, averaging 6 yards per carry. The victory put Navy in sole possession of first place in the AAC West and served as a suitable encore for its 46-40 upset of defending league champion Houston two weeks ago.Navys 14-game home winning streak is its longest at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium since the facility opened in 1959.Tony Pollard returned a kickoff 100 yards and Riley Ferguson completed 25 of 40 passes for 333 yards and two touchdowns for Memphis (5-2, 2-1). But the Tigers simply couldnt score enough to offset the damage inflicted by Navys sensational running attack. They kind of got after us up front and we had a couple of assignment issues, Norvell said. But I just thought they did a great job executing.Worths second touchdown run put Navy ahead 28-14 early in the third quarter. Memphis responded with a 9-yard TD pass from Furguson to Daniel Hurd.As the clock wound down in the third quarter, Navvy faced a fourth-and-4 at the Memphis 18.dddddddddddd Norvell called a timeout, forcing the Midshipmen to deal with the possibility of a field goal try into a stiff wind. Instead, Navy sent its offense on the field and went up 35-21 on a touchdown pass from Worth to Tyler Carmona .After Memphis again got within a touchdown, a 52-yard completion by Worth led to a 32-yard field goal try by Bennett Moehring. The kick clanged off the left upright with 5:40 to go.But a fumble by Tigers wide receiver Roderick Proctor was recovered by Navy with 3:39 remaining, and Worth clinched it with a 1-yard plunge.Worth, a 6-foot-1 senior, started the season as a second-string quarterback but was elevated to starting status after Tago Smith injured his right knee in the opener.Heres a kid who was a backup, kept his mouth quiet, Navy coach Ken Niumatalolo said. Now hes doing great things.TURNOVER EQUALITYMemphis forced 18 turnovers in its first six games, but the only one it got Saturday was when Worth hit the pylon trying to score a touchdown and lost control of the ball. The result was a touchback for the Tigers, whose lone turnover -- Proctors fumble -- was far most costly.THE TAKEAWAYMemphis: The Tigers came in as a slight favorite because their offense hadnt scored fewer than 24 points in any game. But the defense wasnt up for the challenge of Navys running attack, and now Memphis needs help to get to the AAC title game.Navy: The Midshipmen have proven they dont need Reynolds at quarterback to make the triple option sing. Navys running game is tricky, shifty and just about unstoppable for teams not accustomed to chasing the quarterback, fullback and slotback all over the field.UP NEXTMemphis: The Tigers host Tulsa next Saturday night at the Liberty Bowl.Navy: The Midshipmen face AAC East Division co-leader South Florida (6-2, 3-1) on the road Friday night.---AP college football website: collegefootball.ap.org Cheap Nike NFL Jerseys Cheap Jerseys China Stitched Jerseys China Jerseys Cheap Jerseys Store Youth NFL Jerseys Cheap Wholesale Nike NFL Jerseys Discount NFL Jerseys Wholesale NFL Camo Jerseys Wholesale NFL White Jerseys Wholesale NFL Camo Jerseys White NFL Jerseys Cheap Camo China NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Jerseys NFL China ' ' '
