BERN, Switzerland -- Bauke Mollema has been in this position before: Second in the Tour de France on the second and final rest day.The difference from three years ago, when Mollema faded over the final week due to illness, is experience. Now I know a little bit what to expect with all this kind of things, Mollema told a packed news conference on Tuesday. Its not only cycling. Also, my level is better than it was three years ago. While hes still largely unknown outside his native Netherlands and cycling circles, Mollema is shaping up as the top challenger to defending champion and race leader Chris Froome.Two-time Tour runner-up Nairo Quintana was supposed to be Froomes top rival but the Colombian sits fourth, behind by 2 minutes, 59 seconds.Mollema was 1:47 behind in second, with Adam Yates of Britain third, 2:45 back.Flying under the radar was fine with Mollema, a father of two from Zuidhorn in the northern part of the Netherlands, where much of the land is below sea level. There is a Dutch saying, Doe maar gewoon, dat is gek genoeg, which translates as Act normal. Thats crazy enough. It applies especially to people from the north, who are usually considered more down to earth than their southern counterparts. The saying fits perfectly with Mollema, who came late to cycling and didnt enter his first race until he was 18.I always did a lot of sports -- football, tennis, running. We were always a sports family but my family was not into cycling, Mollema explained. I rode my bike to school, 12 kilometers (7 1/2 miles) every day up and down, and thats when I started to like riding my bike.My first years as a pro it was a disadvantage, especially technically, but now its more than 10 years later so maybe Im more fresh compared to other riders.Mollema has been able to stay with Froome in the mountains, and moved up to second with an exceptional time trial in Stage 13.The race resumes on Wednesday with four grueling stages in the Alps before the mostly ceremonial finish in Paris on Sunday.I still have something to prove, Mollema said. Im happy where I am right now but in the end I will only be happy with a good result in Paris.Mollemas top support riders on the Trek-Segafredo team are Haimar Zubeldia of Spain and Frank Schleck of Luxembourg. Froome, meanwhile, has been able to rely on four or five lieutenants up the climbs with Team Sky.Froome is, of course, the big favorite. He has all the pressure, Mollema said. For them, it would be disappointing with a team like that and the budget they have if they dont win the Tour.Stage 17 on Wednesday should particularly suit Mollema, with the beyond-category uphill finish to Finhaut-Emosson.If theres opportunities I will go for it. Thats for sure. If I see any weaknesses with Froome for sure I will attack, said Mollema, who prefers uphill to downhill finishes. In the last years, he always had a bad day in the Alps or the Pyrenees, where he lost some time, so it can also happen this year.It will be a big war until the end.Mollema might have been leading at this point if Froome hadnt been allowed to keep the yellow jersey after the chaotic climb up Mont Ventoux in Stage 12.We were in disagreement with how the rules were applied but we need to turn the page and focus on whats next, Trek general manager Luca Guercilena said.Guercilena extended Mollemas contract before the Tour to keep him through 2018.We gave him total confidence, Guercilena said. While cycling is a passion across the Netherlands, only two Dutchmen have won the Tour: Jan Janssen in 1968 and Joop Zoetemelk in 1980.Yet, Mollema is part of a generation of outstanding Dutch cylists.Countryman Tom Dumoulin won two stages in this Tour, and is also considered a future overall contender, as is Steven Kruijswijk, who finished fourth in this years Giro dItalia after losing the lead two stages from the end. Robert Gesink has finished in the top 10 of several major races, and Wilco Kelderman is another rising star. This is the results of a school, a methodology that is in Holland for some years, said Guercilena, who is Italian. They let them ride more easy and relaxed when they are young. ... In some other countries, Italy included, very often theres so much pressure and so much attention on the junior and the under-23 levels that it makes them explode when they turn pro.Mollema has finished in the top 10 on the Tour in each of the past three years. Now he wants to see if he can take the next step.---Associated Press writer Peter Dejong contributed to this report.---Andrew Dampf on Twitter: www.twitter.com/asdampf Wholesale NBA Jerseys Authentic . -- If Henry Burris has his way, he will be the starting quarterback to lead the Hamilton Tiger-Cats back to the Grey Cup next year. BALTIMORE -- John Harbaugh had been waiting the entire season for the Baltimore Ravens to put it all together in one memorable, outstanding performance. His patience was rewarded Sunday. The Ravens combined a record-setting passing day by Joe Flacco with a rugged defensive effort in a 38-6 rout of the Miami Dolphins. It was just a heck of a team victory, Harbaugh said. Its something thats been in our minds, our vision of how we played today as a team. Its what were working for, and its nice to see it happen.Flacco threw for 381 yards and four touchdowns, and the Ravens (7-5) made it apparent early that Miamis six-game winning streak would not make it to seven.Baltimore built a 24-0 halftime lead behind the leagues second-ranked defense and Flacco, who went 27 for 34 for 258 yards and three scores. That was enough to provide the Ravens with their fourth win in five games and at least a share of first place in the AFC North.Flacco finished with a franchise-record 36 completions in 47 attempts, by far his most impressive outing in an uneven season. He entered with 11 TD passes and 10 interceptions. It feels good to throw four touchdown passes, Flacco said, but at the end of the day, what does it really matter? As long as we win, thats what matters.Miami (7-5) didnt score until Ryan Tannehill threw a touchdown pass in the fourth quarter following a fumble recovery that started the drive at the Baltimore 8.That made it 24-6, and Flacco answered with a 53-yard touchdown pass to Breshad Perriman with 12:49 left. Two of Flaccos TD passes went to tight end Dennis Pitta, whos enjoying a fine season in his return from a second hip surgery. Pitta had nine catches for 90 yards and leads Baltimore with 61 receptions, but he hadnt reached the end zone since December 2013.Tannehill went 29 for 40 for 226 yards and three interceptions. He was picked off only once during Miamis six-game streak. The Ravens scored a touchdown on their first possession for the second week in a row, moving 75 yards before Flacco connected with Terrance West for a 3-yard score.Unlike last week, when Baltimore managed just one TD in a win over Cincinnati, the Ravens immediately built on their early advantage. Following a missed field goal by the Dolphins, Flacco deftly took Baltimore downfield before throwing a 13-yard touchdown pass to Pitta.ddddddddddddhe drive was extended by Kenneth Dixons 10-yard run on a fourth-and-1.Flacco capped an 18-play drive in the second quarter with a 9-yard touchdown pass to Pitta. The methodical march took up 8 minutes, 57 seconds.QUOTEABLEDolphins: This was not one of our best performances, coach Adam Gase said. You cant waste opportunities early in the game, especially on offense. We had nothing that really jump-started us. We just couldnt make any plays.Ravens: I thought Joe just played phenomenally well, Harbaugh said. Joe and the offensive line got the game balls in the locker room. I thought (Flaccos) vision was phenomenal. He moved around and made plays on the run, guys made catch-and-run plays. It looked like we wanted it to look.NOWHERE TO RUNDolphins: Miami was limited to 62 yards rushing, its lowest output since gaining 51 in a loss to Tennessee on Oct. 9 -- its last loss. Jay Ajayi was held to 61 yards on 12 carries.Ravens: The Ravens split the handoffs. Dixon gained 56 yards on six attempts and West had 10 carries for 50 yards, including a 9-yard TD run in the fourth quarter.STILL PERFECTRavens kicker Justin Tucker connected on a 55-yard field goal to end the first half. Hes 28 for 28 this season, with eight FGs of at least 50 yards. Hes also hit 35 in a row over two seasons.Gase used a timeout an instant before Tucker banged his field goal try through the uprights. After the timeout, Tucker duplicated the feat.INJURY UPDATEDolphins: LB Kiko Alonso (hand) missed part of the first half. ... CB Tony Lippett was evaluated for a concussion and cleared in second quarter.Ravens: CB Tavon Young (shoulder) left in the second quarter but returned after halftime.UP NEXTDolphins: Miami hosts Arizona next Sunday. The Dolphins have won three straight in the series after losing the first eight.Ravens: A Monday night game in New England looms for the Ravens, 1-7 against the Patriots in the regular season.
